Why God allows the feeling of pain?

Life is like droplets of water sometimes.

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
'I don't believe God exists.'

'Why do you say that?' asked the customer.
'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.'

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers don't exist!'
'How can you say that?' asked the surprised barber.
'I am here, and I am a barber. I just worked on you!'
'NO!' the customer exclaimed.
'Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.'

'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me.'

'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and sufferings in the world.'

We go to barbers, pay and get our haircut. Does this mean we go to God, pay and He will help us? Your anology is flawed Yujinbo!

hahaha, hey that isn't the point of the story about the paying, isn't it, anonymous?

just bout people in misery not seeking God akin hairy people not "seeking" the barber, thats why there are sick people, and thats why there are hairy people in the world..lol

its just an inspirational story. Don't be too harsh!

dear anonymous 1,

its going to god, asking god. and receiving it.

pay god? sure. be a good samaritan. love your neighbours. wanna give cash? there's the offering bag in church. but he didn't ask you to pay. he asked you to ask. but by all means if you insist to pay in cash, sure =)

i've read this somewhere before too. and i think its a good story =)

anyway, to add to my last comment,

i believe that with each suffering God puts you through, it makes you a stronger person =)

This is plain stupid. By that flawed logic, all Christians should know no suffering and pain... so there should be no Christian people getting cancer, no Christian kids born with birth defects, and no starvation and strife in Christian-dominant areas of Africa.

Right.....

God doesn't solve all your problems 100% but He will certain give you guidence if you seek. The world will be too simple if He solves your problems for you.

I like the story =)
