Forget about the party at the Curve, Cineleisure or even the countdown at Mid-Valley. When anyone asks how did we usher in the new year, the answer is simple: A movie and supper.
But before all that, I had a pleasant surprise from Amanda, Big Apple Doughnuts! They are mouth-watering circles which are sinfully coated with chocolate, sugar and jam. She drove me to one of the hills in Bangsar to have a small 'dinner-picnic' while watching the sun set. Nothing beats the satisfaction gained from eating with someone you cherish (as well as doughnuts which are so yum!)
We watched 'I am Legend' at 1-Utama. It was a good thing that we left the place early as the traffic jam towards the Curve had already started. Hordes of people were already flocking to 1-Utama arond 10 p.m. as there was a live concert. Thank goodness we were not stuck in the pile up for long. Here's the pro-KL driver in action:
We arrived at the Indian Mamak with hungry stomachs. It was not a surprise to see that place almost empty as most of the KL-lites were either at home or at clubs/bars waiting to usher the year 2008. These are the things we ordered:
1. Maggi Goreng 2. Amanda with her Roti Tisu 3. Nasi Goreng.
Not really much of a count-down we had, but it was something that few others did during this very special occasion: just hanging out with someone special till the clock ticks from the past to the future. Greetings to my parents who are back in Malacca (pleasantly enjoying filling their stomachs at Ang Moh Teh without me), friends and everyone who reads this post. Happy New Year all!
